When we get something wrong we correct it on the record. We do not quietly edit a story and pretend it always read that way.

A correction is a factual error. A clarification is where the facts were right but the wording misled. An update is new information added to a developing story. Each is labelled as such on the article and appears in the log below with the date.

If you believe something we published is wrong, write to the contact address with the headline, the date and what you believe the error is. We aim to respond within two working days.
